Histology Service
The Histology laboratory in the Section of Comparative medicine
will prepare animal tissues for microscopic examination. This includes
tissue fixation, embedding, generation of frozen section or hematoxylin
and eosin stained slides, special stains or unstained sections for
immunohistochemistry.
Getting Started
Please fill out the online request form, and print out a copy to
include with your samples. Please bring samples to LSOG 128. Depending
upon the request and our case load, samples will be processed within
4-10 days. We will call you when they are ready, and they can then
be picked up at the same location.
We will accept fixed animals, tissues, cassettes or blocks. We
can provide fixatives if you need them - please see Fixation Protocols
to identify the fixative and the protocol most suitable for your
samples. If whole animals are submitted, please contact Carmen Booth
to discuss the most appropriate sections to cut in.
